About the role
Customer Trust & Engineering team at DigitalOcean builds the Identity & Access Management platform that secures billions of transactions daily. The Senior Software Engineer II will define next‑gen identity architecture, lead agentic AI workload identity strategy, and drive protocol adoption across the organization. Bengaluru, hybrid (3 days onsite).
What you’ll do
- Define platform architecture for hyperscale, multi‑tenancy identity services
- Architect agentic AI workload identity and credential issuance
- Drive adoption of identity protocols (OIDC, SAML, SCIM)
- Evolve authorization policy engine with RBAC/ABAC/PBAC models
- Shape cross‑org technical decisions across IAM, inference, billing, and DOKS
- Establish engineering standards and best practices for IAM domain
- Mentor senior engineers on system design and security
- Communicate strategy to senior leadership
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years software engineering experience
- 3+ years identity/authentication/authorization focus
- Expert-level Go proficiency
- Deep experience with gRPC microservices
- Knowledge of OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, SCIM
- Familiarity with SPIFFE/SPIRE workload identity
- Experience with Kubernetes, MySQL, Terraform
- Strong communication and cross‑org leadership
