Principal Software Engineer AI Security

About the role

AI Security team at Cyberhaven builds backend systems that give enterprises real‑time visibility and control over data flowing into and out of LLMs, GenAI apps, and autonomous agents. The Principal Engineer will architect, extend, and optimize large‑scale, fault‑tolerant services, define security features, and mentor senior staff while shaping the product line’s technical direction. Remote work from India or the EU, collaborating with distributed teams across Europe and the US.

What you’ll do

• Architect and evolve a highly scalable, fault‑tolerant backend for AI security
• Define and implement end‑to‑end data protection features for LLM and GenAI workflows
• Design connectors integrating with SaaS and AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Copilot
• Perform performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of distributed code
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, lead architecture reviews, and set technical standards
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Europe and the US to deliver secure solutions

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years backend engineering experience
• Deep hands‑on Go development
• Experience with GCP services (BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner)
• Microservices architecture and Kubernetes production experience
• Designing and scaling distributed systems handling billions of events
• Performance profiling and optimization of large data pipelines
• Building API‑level connectors for SaaS and AI/LLM platforms
• Strong verbal and written English communication
