Full Stack Developer / Consultant Specialist
About the role
HSBC is seeking a Full Stack Developer / Consultant Specialist to join its Pune, Maharashtra, India team. The role delivers full stack functionality from design through to production, collaborating with Product, UX, QA, and Platform teams to break down requirements into technical tasks. You will establish stakeholder relationships, provide product readiness recommendations, implement automated testing, and contribute to CI/CD improvements.
What you’ll do
- Deliver full stack functionality (UI, APIs, services, and data changes) from design through to production
- Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Platform teams to break down requirements into well-scoped technical tasks
- Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Provide recommendations to the Product Owner and/or other project stakeholders on the product readiness to go live
- Implement automated testing (unit/integration; e2e where relevant) and contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements
- Design and build well-structured REST APIs (GraphQL optional) with versioning and clear contracts
- Close the gaps and work closely with team and measure the improvements
- Contribution towards efficiency / Value addition
What you’ll bring
- Back-end development experience in Python or Java (Spring Boot)
- Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript and a modern front-end framework (React or Angular preferred)
- Solid understanding of API design (REST, authentication/authorization patterns, error handling)
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases (schema design, query optimization)
- Testing mindset: unit + integration testing
- CI/CD exposure (Git branching, pipeline builds, automated quality gates)
- Working knowledge of cloud and containerization concepts (Docker; Kubernetes and a major cloud provider are a plus)
- Good understanding of Kubernetes and Docker capabilities
Nice to have
- Familiarity with NoSQL is a plus
- Familiarity with e2e frameworks (Cypress/Playwright) beneficial

- Good understanding of Browser Stack or any other cloud-based device farms
