About the role
AlphaSense's Financial Modeling Team, within the Customer & Product Support (C&PS) department, supports enterprise customers by building and validating financial models and Excel add-in templates to enhance M&A and quantitative research workflows. The Analyst, Financial Modeling builds custom client models, maintains the template library, ensures model accuracy, and partners with product and engineering teams on future enhancements. Based in Pune, the role involves rotational shifts across APAC, EMEA, and US time zones.
What you’ll do
- Build custom financial models for global customers to deliver best-in-class experience
- Ensure financial models are accurate, error-free, and reflect operational complexities
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to help clients maximize product value
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and formulas
- Perform rigorous testing to validate model outputs and verify formula integrity
- Modify models to accommodate changing business circumstances, regulatory changes, or new data
- Address complex financial challenges by creating innovative solutions within the modeling framework
- Use Excel to produce high-quality models and reports for clients using AlphaSense add-in
What you’ll bring
- Post graduate degree in Finance, Accounting or similar
- Professional qualification including CFA or FRM
- 1-3 years of client-facing experience
- Deep expertise in finance and experience building financial models in Excel
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and financial analysis terminology (e.g., DCF, financial statements)
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office suite products
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation abilities
- Customer-obsessed mindset with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Nice to have
- Experience working using CapIQ, Bloomberg or similar Excel add-ins
- Knowledge of VBA
- Ability to handle ambiguity, proactively identify challenges and present solutions
- Interest in AI, technology and software applications
