Business Risk Management - Central Testing

About the role

The Central Testing team at State Street evaluates and tests the operational effectiveness of internal controls on behalf of the First Line of Defence across all business lines and locations, supporting Business Risk Management (BRM) in assessing and improving the bank's control environment. Day-to-day, the role applies risk-based assurance skills to business units globally, performing walkthroughs, control testing, population identification, sampling, documenting results, identifying exceptions and root causes, and presenting issues to stakeholders. This full-time position is based in Bangalore, India.

What you’ll do

• Evaluate and test internal controls and apply risk-based assurance skills to business units globally on behalf of the BRM team
• Perform walkthroughs and employ common control testing concepts such as population identification and sampling
• Perform and document testing, identify exceptions and respective root causes
• Present issues to applicable parties
• Support Business Risk Management in assessing and continuously improving the bank's control environment

What you’ll bring

• 1-2 years or corporate experience with growing understanding of risk & control frameworks performing control testing work (e.g., SOX, SOC, Internal Audit)
• Experience assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and corporate policy and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to interact and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including at relatively senior levels
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to perform multiple simultaneous tasks independently in a deadline-driven environment
• Self-motivated and adaptable professional with the ability to prioritize competing priorities while meeting deadlines
• Intellectual curiosity, analytical and critical thinking skills and an enthusiasm for learning and for developing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
