Software Engineer II, IAM

About the role

Customer Trust & Engineering team at DigitalOcean builds the identity platform that secures billions of transactions daily. As a Software Engineer II, you will implement Go features, lead OIDC/SAML integrations, evolve the policy engine with OPA, and ensure reliability across Kubernetes deployments. Bengaluru, hybrid (3 days onsite).

What you’ll do

• Implement features and bug fixes in Go for authentication and authorization services
• Develop OIDC and SAML integrations for federated SSO
• Evolve policy engine using OPA/Rego for advanced permissions
• Ensure service reliability, including Kubernetes deployment tuning
• Collaborate with IAM, Billing, and Inference teams
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
• Document work and mentor junior engineers
• Contribute to distributed systems design and scalability

What you’ll bring

• 2-4 years software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Go or similar typed language
• Experience with OIDC or OAuth2 protocols
• Familiarity with SAML and access control models
• Understanding of distributed systems and Kubernetes
• SQL database experience, preferably MySQL
• Exposure to Terraform
• Nice to have: OPA/Rego and gRPC
