Cloud Security Architect

About the role

Cloud Security Architecture team at Cognizant designs and governs secure cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI. The architect leads threat modeling, security reviews, and embeds security controls into IaC and CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with enterprise, compliance, and engineering stakeholders. Hybrid work in Chennai with occasional client or office attendance, supporting work‑life balance and wellbeing programs.

What you’ll do

• Lead design, validation, and governance of cloud security architecture across multi‑cloud platforms
• Conduct security architecture reviews covering IAM, PIM, network segmentation, micro‑segmentation, and Zero Trust models
• Define and implement security standards, patterns, guardrails, and embed them into IaC and CI/CD pipelines
• Partner with Cloud Management Office, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to integrate security requirements
• Collaborate with compliance and risk stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment
• Mentor and coach security, architecture, and engineering teams on best practices
• Track KPIs and SLOs for cloud architecture initiatives
• Stay current on cloud provider roadmaps, threat landscapes, and industry standards

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years in information security and cybersecurity architecture
• 8+ years securing enterprise cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI)
• Experience designing cloud security architectures for large‑scale deployments
• Proven leadership of cloud security reviews and governance
• Strong expertise in IAM, Zero Trust, CSPM, and security automation
• Hands‑on with Terraform, Bicep, ARM, CloudFormation, GitOps
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Bash
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field
