About the role
The Account Manager - Government role at HP, Inc. serves as the primary interface for international government accounts, focusing on account planning, relationship building, and margin recovery strategies. Day-to-day work includes coordinating account plans, applying consultative-selling techniques, managing pipeline and quotas, and mentoring junior account managers. The position is based in Gurugram, Haryana, India, and is a full-time role with no shift premium.
What you’ll do
- Owns and coordinates account plans on large commercial account(s), focusing on value and/or volume portfolio management and selling a range of the organization’s offerings.
- Demonstrates advanced subject matter expertise and applies consultative-selling techniques to identify and advance opportunities for profitable revenue growth.
- Engages with customers and internal functions to identify requirements, align them with organizational capabilities, and select the appropriate supply chain.
- Works with management to develop future business plans and independently determines methods for achieving plans.
- Builds and maintains strong customer relationships, fostering loyalty and developing a core understanding of unique business needs and challenges.
- Manages the account planning process through scheduled reviews and updates, identifying growth opportunities, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Manages the account to protect and grow the organization’s business, coordinating all account forecasts, planning, and reporting.
- Updates opportunities in pipeline tools and processes, and recommends and implements pipeline management practices.
What you’ll bring
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- 10+ years of work experience, preferably in account management, tele sales, product specialty (computers, printers, servers, storage), or a related field.
- Ability to own and coordinate account plans on large commercial accounts.
- Advanced subject matter expertise and consultative-selling skills.
- Experience managing quarterly, half-yearly, and annual quota and/or margin.
- Ability to navigate complex internal and external stakeholder landscapes.
- Proficiency with pipeline tools and processes for opportunity management.
- Capacity to provide mentorship and guidance to junior account managers.
