Sr. Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

Gigamon is seeking a Sr. Staff SW QA Engineer to validate its network visibility fabric product within a growing, dynamic, cross-functional team. Day-to-day, you will provide technical expertise for system design, usability, and testability; develop and improve testing strategy and automation; and design, develop, and fully automate functional, usability, performance, scaling, and stress testing suites. The role is based in Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical expertise for system design, operation, usability, and testability of products, with special focus on visibility fabric products
• Work closely with functional test teams to develop and improve overall testing approach and strategy
• Develop system testing strategy with focus on automation, including customer use case centric, scalability, and performance testing
• Design, develop, and completely automate Functional, Usability, Performance, Scaling, and Stress Testing suites
• Deliver test automation code and help drive improvements to automation coverage
• Identify, leverage, and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity
• Validate deliverables across Enterprise, Datacenter, Public or Private cloud environments
• Create test beds for customer use case centric as well as scalability and performance testing

What you’ll bring

• BS in CS or related field
• 10+ years of hands-on quality, development, and/or automation experience in virtualization and networking
• Extensive test automation and scripting skills (Python or similar scripting language)
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Robot, Python) and tools (Cypress)
• Demonstrated experience testing UI/UX performance and usability
• Experience testing highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems, including software upgrade, distributed control, and redundancy
• Knowledge of network management concepts and basic protocols (TCP/IP, L2/L3, IPv4, IPv6, NAT, DNS)
• Experience validating deliverables in Enterprise, Datacenter, Public or Private cloud environments (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, AWS)

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP layer, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL protocols, REST services, and hands-on testing experience
• Hands-on experience creating test beds for customer use case centric, scalability, and performance testing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• True passion and focus for delivering quality products
