Senior Software Engineer I, WordPress

About the role

Trusted Media Brands Engineering team builds high‑traffic WordPress publishing platforms that drive ad revenue. The role designs, develops, and maintains performant WordPress sites, optimizes SEO and Core Web Vitals, and leverages AI‑assisted coding tools to accelerate development while ensuring code quality. Gurgaon, India – Remote work model with overlap required for US hours.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain high‑performance WordPress websites
• Implement SEO and Core Web Vitals optimizations
• Utilize AI coding assistants for code generation, reviews, and documentation
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, QA, and project managers
• Write unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure quality
• Automate testing and deployment processes
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Mentor junior engineers

What you’ll bring

• 7-9 years PHP development experience
• Deep expertise in WordPress core, themes, plugins, and custom development
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and automated testing
• Experience optimizing high‑traffic sites for SEO and Core Web Vitals
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, REST APIs, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with TDD using PHPUnit, Codeception, or Jest
• Ability to work 4+ hours overlap with US teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
