About the role

Apple Manufacturing and Product Operations organization builds intelligent manufacturing platforms that connect data, AI models, equipment, and human decision‑making at global scale. The Senior Software Engineering Manager leads multiple software and systems engineering teams to design, build, and operate highly scalable, reliable, and secure platforms for manufacturing process optimization, quality inspection, and physical AI on the factory floor. Role is based in India with an on‑site work model, overseeing cross‑functional collaboration across robotics, machine learning, and operations.

What you’ll do

Define technical strategy and roadmap across multiple teams
Oversee architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical escalations
Drive development of scalable, secure manufacturing platforms
Coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business problems into software solutions
Ensure production reliability, performance, and compliance

What you’ll bring

12+ years software engineering experience
Experience managing multiple engineering teams
Strong hands‑on technical foundation in architecture and design
Experience building distributed systems, microservices, and data platforms
Experience designing AI‑enabled platforms and agentic workflows
Proven ability to hire, mentor, and develop engineers and managers
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience

Nice to have

Leadership of large‑scale, business‑critical systems
Architectural judgment for reliability and security
Collaboration with manufacturing, quality, robotics, and ML organizations
Knowledge of modern agentic‑system concepts and AI integration
