About the role
Axis Bank’s Retail Credit department seeks a Credit Manager in Chennai to oversee underwriting for Asha Loan cases. The role involves monitoring turnaround times, validating borrower data, and making credit decisions using specific evaluation techniques. This position requires managing stakeholder interactions and driving process improvements within the decentralized underwriting framework.
What you’ll do
- Monitor Turnaround Time (TAT) from Login to Sanction for Asha Loan cases
- Validate data entry accuracy and ensure correct capture of borrower details and financial inputs
- Assess and underwrite proposals using Asha-specific evaluation techniques
- Take credit decisions in line with policy guidelines and risk frameworks
- Ensure adherence to audit, compliance, and policy requirements
- Coordinate with FI agencies, technical vendors, and internal teams
- Provide feedback on process gaps and underwriting challenges
- Manage stakeholder interactions with Business, Operations, and Vendors
What you’ll bring
- Graduate or Post-Graduation (MBA/CA preferred)
- 8-12 years of experience in retail credit
- Experience in team handling
- Knowledge of credit, industry, and product trends
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and norms
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and local language
