Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the role

Photon Group is hiring a Senior Full stack Engineer in Bangalore, India to design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and distributed systems in cloud environments. The role operates with a high degree of independence, contributing to architectural decisions and technical strategy while mentoring junior engineers and leading the team through consistent software development best practices. Day-to-day work includes documenting process migrations, producing solution prototypes, collaborating with product owners and designers on product roadmaps, and implementing comprehensive monitoring to diagnose performance and stability issues.

What you’ll do

• Document "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability
• Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of software solutions and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs
• Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to technical solution design
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and distributed systems in cloud environments following modern architectural best practices
• Develop, automate, and perform complex testing and monitoring to diagnose and correct application functionality and/or performance issues; validate and interpret test data
• Implement comprehensive solution monitoring to diagnose application performance and stability issues
• Collaborate effectively with product owners, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver on product roadmaps

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Computer Science or related field
• 7-10 years of experience (8 to 10+ years preferred) as a seasoned practitioner with deep domain expertise
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction and mentor others
• Understands and applies the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Vue JS/ReactJS
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based solutions using containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, including API gateway design, inter-service communicati
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing, with preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery; experience with AWS or Azure also considered
• Ability to design, execute, and report on systems/service tests and to install, configure, and manage software and environments
