About the role

Sagility's Platform Engineering team builds scalable backend services for healthcare member experiences. The Senior Software Engineer develops Python APIs, real-time WebSocket features, and event-driven systems using FastAPI/Django, Redis Streams, and Docker, while collaborating on architecture and CI/CD improvements. Bangalore, hybrid work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Design and maintain scalable Python backend services and APIs
• Implement real-time communication via WebSockets and FastAPI/Django Channels
• Develop event-driven processing using Redis Streams
• Manage database schemas and migrations with Alembic or Django migrations
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system architecture
• Optimize performance and troubleshoot backend issues
• Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 4+ years backend development experience
• Proficiency in Python and async/await
• Experience with FastAPI or Django
• Knowledge of Redis Streams and WebSockets
• SQLAlchemy or Django ORM expertise
• Git and Docker usage
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms
