About the role
Northern Trust's Private Equity Fund Administration (PEFA) team in Bangalore, India, provides third-party clients with comprehensive fund administration, financial accounting, transfer agency, and investor reporting services. As a Senior Consultant, you will evaluate and reconcile complex funds, produce month-end reports and daily valuations, verify transactions, and resolve exceptions while maintaining high accuracy and timeliness. You will coordinate onshore migrations and onboarding, support system changes and strategic initiatives, formulate and execute manual or automated test plans, analyze processes for automation, and serve as a subject matter expert on REIF and Private Equity products. You will also perform quality assurance checks, maintain accounting systems and investor accounts, handle client and internal queries, and train and coach new team members.
What you’ll do
- Evaluate and reconcile complex funds including mutual, commingled, and collective for month-end reports or daily valuation.
- Verify complex transactions, audit income reports within scheduled timeframes, and resolve exceptions daily for fund accounts.
- Coordinate with the onshore team on migrations and work closely with managers to onboard new transitions.
- Support and drive system changes and strategic initiatives by eliciting, analyzing, outlining, and developing requirements with business and technology teams.
- Formulate application testing strategies and test plans, execute manual or automated test cases, and troubleshoot defects.
- Analyze operational procedures and processes with the PCA business to identify automation opportunities that reduce risk and improve efficiency.
- Develop subject matter expertise for REIF and Private Equity products by documenting knowledge bases and cross-training team members across regions.
- Perform quality assurance checks on information received internally from other supporting functions.
What you’ll bring
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 7-10 years of work experience in a Transfer Agency Private Equity environment.
- Thorough understanding of the theoretical and technical nature of transfer agency, especially in Private Equity.
- Hands-on experience with the Investran application.
- Deep understanding of capital account statements and tracking cash receipts across different funds.
- Knowledge of partner capital account statement heads and respective heads.
- Ability to carry out complex, high-profile transactions surrounding PE fund activity such as capital calls and distributions.
- Strong accuracy, timeliness, and urgency in delivering results and resolving exceptions.
