About the role

AI Foundry Data Foundations team at FactSet builds the AI‑ready data platform that powers next‑generation investment technology. The Lead Software Engineer designs and delivers large‑scale document ingestion, vectorization pipelines and distributed data systems, collaborating with data scientists and product teams to enable search, recommendation and generative AI features. Hyderabad, India, on-site, with mentorship and architectural leadership responsibilities.

What you’ll do

• Architect large‑scale document ingestion and vectorization pipelines
• Apply NLP techniques to extract and enrich unstructured financial data
• Build fault‑tolerant, cloud‑native data systems
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams on AI features
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices
• Implement testing, validation and monitoring frameworks
• Research emerging LLM and retrieval technologies

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years software engineering experience
• Strong programming in Python, Java, C# or C++
• Design and implement robust, high‑performance software
• Expertise in distributed systems and scalable data pipelines
• Proficiency with Linux, Git and CI/CD

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML and vectorization frameworks (BERT, spaCy, OpenAI embeddings)
• Knowledge of vector databases (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Pinecone, Weaviate)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and distributed compute (Spark, Ray)

B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/ME in Computer Science or equivalent
