About the role

Supply Chain Management & Automation (SCMA) team at Coupang builds automated systems for procurement and inventory operations, powering decisions on what, how much, and when to order across millions of SKUs. The Senior Software Development Manager leads a lean, high‑impact backend engineering team to design, develop, and scale distributed platforms handling demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supplier integration, while driving technical direction and delivery. Based in Bengaluru, hybrid work model with at least three days onsite per week.

What you’ll do

• Lead, hire, and develop a backend engineering team focused on supply‑chain automation
• Own technical design and architecture of ordering, inventory, and procurement platforms
• Drive end‑to‑end execution of key initiatives, managing timelines and cross‑team dependencies
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate complex supply‑chain requirements into scalable solutions
• Guide development of distributed, high‑scale systems processing inventory and demand data
• Ensure engineering excellence through code quality, reliability, and operational readiness
• Mentor engineers and contribute hands‑on to critical challenges

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years software engineering experience
• 3+ years engineering management
• Strong Java backend development
• Designing large‑scale data‑intensive systems (Spark, Kafka, Airflow)
• Microservices and event‑driven architecture
• Experience with data warehouses, NoSQL, caching (Redshift, MySQL, Redis)
• Leadership of high‑performing backend teams
• Supply chain or logistics domain knowledge (preferred)
