Global Project Planning Manager

About the role

Global Project Planning Manager (m/f/d) is a global planning leadership role based in India focused on strengthening project scheduling excellence across multiple regions. The role shapes and implements consistent planning standards, methods, and tools across complex international projects, combining strategic planning, quality assurance, coaching, and continuous improvement. You will support project teams from tender and early planning stages through execution, assess schedule quality, and develop regional planning capabilities. This is a functional leadership position with broad international exposure within a global technology environment.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, standardize, implement, and continuously improve global project planning methods, processes, tools, and scheduling standards
  • Support adoption of consistent planning practices across global regions and strengthen planning capabilities within local teams
  • Train and coach regional project schedulers on planning systems, tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Support project teams during tender and early project phases, including development of realistic and achievable baseline schedules
  • Review project schedules to ensure feasibility, consistency, completeness, quality, and alignment with project execution requirements
  • Participate in regional project reviews, assess planning maturity and schedule-related risks, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct schedule quality assessments and due diligence reviews to identify potential gaps, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing schedule reliability, planning quality, and overall project execution performance

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field or a related discipline
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in project scheduling
  • Strong understanding of international project execution and scheduling requirements
  • Proven experience training, coaching, mentoring, or providing functional leadership to project planning teams
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to identify risks and solve complex planning challenges
  • Excellent knowledge of scheduling methodologies and tools
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to motivate and align teams across regions and cultures without direct authority
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with confidence in a global, multicultural environment
