Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Bayer seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer in Bangalore to lead the design, automation, and continuous improvement of software delivery, cloud operations, and Agentic AI products. The role involves building scalable infrastructure, optimizing data integration pipelines, and mentoring engineers while defining DevOps strategy. This on-site position requires 8+ years of experience in cloud platforms and infrastructure as code.

What you’ll do

• Design and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Build and optimize cloud infrastructure using IaC and automation practices
• Implement distributed data integration pipelines using Apache Kafka
• Automate provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Kubernetes, or Docker
• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines for secure software delivery
• Establish observability practices including monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Embed security and compliance controls into pipelines and infrastructure
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Data engineering, Cloud infrastructure, or related disciplines
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms
• Extensive production experience with Apache Kafka and distributed systems

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong coding and scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Java, or Go
• Solid understanding of observability practices using Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK
