About the role
The Assistant Manager (CAE) role at Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited's Corporate R&D division in Pune, India, leads end-to-end CAE activities for reciprocating, centrifugal, and screw compressors. Day-to-day work includes performing static and dynamic structural analyses, CFD simulations, pulsation and vibration studies, design optimization, technical reporting, and root cause investigations, while collaborating with R&D, testing, and manufacturing teams. The position is onsite.
What you’ll do
- Perform static structural analysis for key compressor components using ANSYS or Altair
- Conduct dynamic analysis including rotor-dynamics, modal, harmonic, and time-transient studies
- Carry out pulsation and mechanical vibration analysis per API 618/API 672/ISO standards
- Perform CFD simulations for compressors and associated piping using ANSYS Fluent or CFX
- Support optimization of compressor component design by correlating simulation with test and field data
- Prepare and review CAE reports and technical documentation for internal teams, customers, and certifying agencies
- Contribute to root cause analysis and failure investigations using simulation and multi-physics approaches
- Drive innovation in simulation workflows, automation, and adoption of advanced CAE technologies including AI/ML-assisted simulations
What you’ll bring
- Strong expertise in CAE tools such as ANSYS (Mechanical, Fluent, CFX), Abaqus, HyperMesh, or COMSOL
- Solid understanding of structural mechanics, rotor dynamics, vibration, acoustics, and fluid dynamics
- Hands-on experience in pulsation analysis and compressor piping design per API standards
- Proficiency in CFD meshing, solver setup, and post-processing for rotating machinery
- Knowledge of design codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and material properties
- Experience with scripting or automation using Python, MATLAB, or APDL is desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
