Process Engineer, Complex Processing Facilities
About the role
Process Engineering and Automation team within Chevron’s ENGINE Center develops and optimizes complex processing facilities for refining and upstream operations. The Process Engineer provides technical consultation, designs process improvements, builds simulation models, and troubleshoots assets using data analytics tools. Bengaluru, India, on-site work model.
What you’ll do
- Provide technical service consultation to LNG and refining assets
- Review and improve designs for operability, reliability, and maintenance
- Develop heat and material balances and process datasheets for early‑phase projects
- Create and maintain detailed process simulation models to evaluate scenarios
- Support day‑to‑day operations with engineering analysis and troubleshooting using data analytics
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field
- Experience with refining technologies such as distillation, FCC, coking, reforming, hydrogen manufacturing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- 5-10+ years process engineering experience in refining or petrochemical facilities
- Analytical calculations: mass transfer, fluid flow, heat transfer, kinetics, equipment sizing
- Proficiency with process monitoring tools (PI, Seeq) and modeling software (Hysys, PRO/II)
- Project work improving yield, throughput or energy efficiency
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management concepts
