Power Electronics Design Engineer Traction

About the role

Power Electronics Design Team at Larsen & Toubro works on high‑performance power electronics for EV traction converters. The engineer designs, simulates, and validates power conversion circuits, selects semiconductors, and leads hardware testing and thermal/EMI mitigation. Bengaluru, on‑site, full‑time role with collaboration across firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing groups.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop traction inverter and converter circuits
• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and component selection
• Simulate and optimize switching topologies, thermal performance, and EMI/EMC
• Create test jigs, conduct hardware validation, and debug prototypes
• Document schematics, BOMs, design reports, and change logs
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA/DFM activities, and failure analysis

What you’ll bring

• M.Tech in Power Electronics or related field
• 5-10 years hands‑on power electronics design experience
• Expertise in high‑voltage DC‑AC and DC‑DC converters
• Proficiency with Cadence/Altium, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink
• Experience with SiC MOSFET/IGBT selection and gate‑drive design
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and thermal management
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 (ASIL C/D) requirements
