Tax Senior Associate 1, State & Local Tax, Asset Management

About the role

SALT team at RSM provides state and local tax advisory services to middle‑market clients. The Senior Associate delivers profitable SALT solutions, offers high‑quality tax advice on state income, franchise, sales, use and other taxes, and prepares technical memoranda and client deliverables. Works on client engagements from Hyderabad and Bengaluru with an on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

• Deliver profitable SALT services to clients
• Provide timely high quality tax advice and consultation
• Focus on state income and franchise taxes, also sales/use/gross receipts/employment taxes, credits, due diligence
• Research and resolve technical state and local tax issues
• Prepare technical memoranda, matrices and client deliverables
• Manage tax assignments and projects
• Plan and coordinate information flow with client
• Review work papers and state tax returns

What you’ll bring

• 2+ years state and local tax experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Nice to have

• CPA or Masters of Accounting or MBA or LLM in Taxation
• Knowledge of broad range of state and local tax matters
