Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Iris Software is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data & Analytics practice in Gurugram, India. The role focuses on designing and leading scalable data engineering solutions, including batch and streaming pipelines, Lakehouse architectures, and workflow orchestration, while mentoring team members and collaborating across stakeholders to deliver enterprise-scale data platforms. The position requires 7-8 years of experience and is based in Gurugram.

What you’ll do

• Design scalable data engineering solutions using PySpark and modern distributed data processing frameworks
• Define data ingestion, transformation, and processing architectures aligned with business and analytical objectives
• Design and optimize Snowflake or Delta Lake on Databricks solutions to support enterprise-scale data platforms
• Lead implementation of high-performance batch and streaming data pipelines
• Design and optimize event-driven data architectures using Apache Kafka or Amazon Kinesis
• Architect workflow orchestration solutions using Apache Airflow or Databricks Workflows
• Drive data quality, validation, reconciliation, and governance practices across data engineering solutions
• Mentor team members on PySpark, Snowflake, Delta Lake, Kafka, Kinesis, Airflow, and data engineering best practices

What you’ll bring

• 7-8 years of experience in data engineering
• Proficiency in PySpark and Python for distributed data processing
• Strong SQL skills for database programming and data manipulation
• Experience with Amazon Kinesis for event-driven data architectures
• Knowledge of Data Quality & Validation practices
• Hands-on experience with Databricks Workflows and Delta Lake on Databricks
• Ability to design scalable data engineering solutions using modern frameworks
• Familiarity with Snowflake or Delta Lake for enterprise-scale data platforms
