About the role

The Manager, Data Management Group at Northern Trust oversees the India team of Data Governance and Data Analytics Consultants in Pune, India. The role delivers high-quality analytics, custom reporting, and automated data solutions while supporting data governance and data quality frameworks. Day-to-day work includes leading the consultant team, collaborating with business and IT stakeholders, and driving complex data initiatives across global regions.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and manage the Data Management consultant team, ensuring delivery against agreed KPIs
  • Review and analyze data to ensure quality and support implementation of automated solutions for efficiency and custom reporting
  • Promote design, build, and deployment of modern data and analytical solutions
  • Participate in initiatives to improve data quality in the Data Management Platform and work with data stewards, consultants, and technology partners
  • Own data governance and data quality frameworks, including controls, monitoring, and compliance reviews
  • Design and support modern analytics and automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Understand and optimize complex SQL queries to support analytics and reporting needs
  • Identify and drive automation opportunities across data and analytics processes and collaborate with product owners, technology teams, and global partners

What you’ll bring

  • Graduate or Postgraduate with 9+ years of overall experience, preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Quality and Data Governance with a strong analytics and automation focus
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Collibra, Talend, Alteryx, Databricks, Power BI, Python, R
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, ETL, and data integration concepts
  • Demonstrated track record of leading data, analytics, or automation initiatives
  • Must be flexible to work in shifts and/or on a rotational basis
  • Should have completed 1 year as Section manager

Nice to have

  • 3+ years' experience in Data Governance / Data Quality / Analytics, preferably within Financial Services
  • Exposure to Snowflake/Azure preferred
  • Prior experience in Financial Services or other regulated environments is preferred
