About the role

NCR Voyix Corporation is a global unified commerce platform leader headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, serving retailers and restaurants in over 35 countries. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will provide daily on-premises and cloud database support, implement technical procedures, standards, and security, and document database design, accessibility, and maintenance. Day-to-day work includes managing backups, database patching, performance tuning, general production support, and designing optimized databases for development, testing, production, and training. You will also design and implement database solutions for High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and capacity management as part of a global team providing 24/7 database support. Locations: Chennai, India and Gurgaon, India.

What you’ll do

Provide daily support for databases both on premises and in cloud
Implement technical procedures, standards, and security for support of databases managed by ITS
Document the design, accessibility, and maintenance of database systems both on premises and in cloud
Manage backups, database patching, performance tuning, and general production support
Design, develop, and maintain optimized databases for development, testing, production, and training
Design and implement database solutions for High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Database Capacity Management
Be part of a global team that provides 24/7 database support
Identify database tools that enable efficient database development, management, and utilization

What you’ll bring

BS/BA in Computer Engineering, MIS or equivalent degree
10+ years experience as an Oracle DBA
2+ years experience writing and tuning SQL
8+ years experience with DR solutions like Oracle Data Guard and Golden Gate
8+ years experience managing Oracle Rman
8+ years experience setting up and managing both HA and DR configurations and testing
Experience working in a 24/7 global support group
Understanding of VM and cloud computing

Nice to have

Experience with MySQL a plus
Experience with Postgres a plus
