About the role

PwC's SAP Advisory team in Pune seeks a SAP consulting generalist to deliver business application consulting services. Day-to-day work involves designing, developing, and deploying custom SAP ABAP programs, forms, and interfaces, building system integrations, optimizing code, and providing technical support and documentation. The role is a full-time position based in Pune.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom SAP ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEF objects)
  • Develop and maintain SmartForms, SAPScripts, Adobe Forms, and ALV reports
  • Create and manage user exits, BADIs, BAPIs, and enhancement spots
  • Build and support interfaces between SAP and external systems using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Web Services
  • Collaborate with functional consultants (SD, MM, FI, PP, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Analyze and optimize ABAP code for performance and scalability
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to SAP development standards and best practices
  • Provide technical support for SAP applications, resolve issues, and participate in SAP upgrades, patching, and migration activities (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA)

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 4–8 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
  • Strong knowledge of Classical and Object-Oriented ABAP
  • Strong knowledge of Data Dictionary (DDIC) and Module Pool Programming
  • Strong knowledge of BDC, LSMW, and BAPI-based data migration
  • Strong knowledge of SmartForms, SAPScripts, and Adobe Forms
  • Strong knowledge of ALV reporting (Classical, Interactive, and OO ALV)
  • Experience with debugging and performance tuning

Nice to have

  • Experience with S/4HANA and ABAP on HANA (CDS Views, AMDP, OData services)
  • Exposure to Fiori/UI5 development and SAP Gateway
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jira)
  • SAP ABAP certification
