Sr Applications Developer - Engineer

About the role

Uber's People Technology team seeks a Sr Applications Developer - Engineer to design, build, test, and deploy technical components such as integrations, extensions, business rules, workflows, personalizations, and customizations on Oracle HCM Cloud SaaS applications powering HR functional areas. The role involves serving as a subject matter expert on Oracle HCM Cloud technical development, advising the business on technical solutions, leading special projects, and collaborating with cross-functional technical leaders and architects. Positions are based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India or Hyderabad, Telangana, India, with a remote work model.

What you’ll do

• Design technology strategy & architecture, propose SaaS development guidelines and recommend best practices
• Design, build, and deploy technical changes leveraging Oracle HCM cloud capabilities
• Apply strong knowledge of integration frameworks, data & reporting strategies, and customization guidelines to ensure scalability and reduce tech debt
• Innovate in the technology space and develop custom functionality leveraging integration platforms
• Advocate industry-standard best enterprise engineering practices on security, observability, monitoring, and deployment
• Advise the business on the right technical solutions and recommend best practices, understanding downstream impacts
• Lead special projects and ad hoc analyses to evaluate new initiatives, products, risks, and opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical leaders and architects and work with global and remote teams and stakeholders

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years of Oracle HCM Cloud experience as technical consultant and/or engineer
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Proven experience in Oracle Integration Cloud, HCM Extracts, Oracle Visual Builder, OTBI & BIP Reports, Page personalizations, Workflow customizations, Fast formulas, Redwood design, Security Framewor
• Deep knowledge of Oracle Payroll cloud technical capabilities, extensibility, development and deployment methodologies
• Proven experience working across at least 2 end-to-end HR transformation projects on Oracle HCM cloud
• Strong understanding of Oracle HCM Fusion Cloud implementation methodologies
• Hands-on experience building solutions across multiple Oracle HCM Cloud technical areas
• Experience using JIRA, Lucidchart, and other project management tools

Nice to have

• Knowledge of various data and integration architecture patterns outside of SaaS applications
• Expertise in working on functional configurations in 1 or 2 functional areas within Oracle HCM cloud
• Exposure to programming and software engineering in 1 or 2 disciplines
• Certifications on Oracle HCM/Fusion cloud Implementation on relevant areas for this role
