Manager / Senior Manager, Employee Relations

About the role

Employee Relations team at KONE India drives labor strategy and employee engagement for the Chennai supply‑chain factory. The manager partners with plant leadership, unions and HR to design and implement people policies, wage negotiations, compliance and workforce planning. Role involves daily business partnering, handling industrial relations issues, overseeing payroll and learning programs, and leading engagement initiatives. Based in Chennai, on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

• Define and execute employee relations agenda for Chennai plant
• Lead wage, benefits and union negotiations and ensure timely settlements
• Provide guidance on labor legislation and ensure legal compliance
• Partner with local HR to manage payroll, administration and workforce planning
• Develop and deliver learning and development programs
• Drive employee engagement surveys and action plans
• Support plant leadership with discipline management and performance reward
• Collaborate with HR CoEs to align local initiatives with KONE strategy

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years progressive HR experience
• Master's degree in Human Resources (preferred)
• Fluency in English and Tamil (preferred)
• Experience with collective bargaining and union negotiations
• Handling disciplinary procedures and industrial actions
• Statutory compliance for manufacturing plants
• Working in global matrix organizations
