Assistant Vice President - Platform Compliance Post Acquisition

About the role

SBI Card is a leading pure-play credit card issuer in India, and this role leads compliance oversight for digital platforms, products, and technology infrastructure. The Assistant Vice President bridges technical teams (engineering, product) with regulatory requirements (RBI, SEBI, NPCI, DPDP), ensuring new features and automated workflows are compliant by design while managing surveillance and control frameworks. Based in Gurugram, India, the position involves vulnerability and obsolescence management, regulatory compliance, risk management, strategic delivery, audit and reporting, stakeholder engagement, people management, budget control, and attrition management.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee programs for identification, management, and remediation of technology risks and vulnerability management
  • Execute programs related to platform upgrades for obsolete versions and establish clear End-of-Life (EOL) technology retirement, renewal, and upgrade programs
  • Ensure all technology platforms and digital lending/service applications comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOX, RBI, SEC)
  • Identify, assess, and manage compliance and conduct risks
  • Drive technology-related strategic programs aimed at operational excellence within the compliance function and across covered platforms
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant industry regulations and guidelines
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, preparing documentation and reports for management review and regulatory submission
  • Engage and align internal and external stakeholders for smooth operations

What you’ll bring

  • Overall experience of 9-12 years with relevant team handling/domain experience of 6-8 years
  • B.E / B.Tech / MCA in Computer Science/IT
  • Proven experience leading and managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Hands-on experience with GRC platforms (e.g., ServiceNow IRM) and data analytics tools for compliance monitoring
  • Deep knowledge of industry frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, COBIT, SOX, and GDPR/data privacy standards
  • Strong background in cybersecurity risks, controls definition, and IT infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience in technology areas including Java J2EE, SOAP/REST, Microservices, Oracle, PL/SQL, Python, SOA BPM, Angular, React, Linux, Shell scripting, Oracle WebLogic
  • Implementation and working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools (Fortify, Jenkins, Git, Nexus, Jira, Sonar)

Nice to have

  • ITIL/ITSM/ITAM is highly desirable
  • MBA/PGDM in IT/System is preferred
  • Preferred industry background in BFSI
