About the role

NIQ seeks a Mid-Level Data & Platform Engineer in Chennai to design scalable data pipelines and support cloud-based platforms using Python, Snowflake, and SQL. The role involves optimizing data models, managing Azure services, and integrating AI-driven initiatives within an Agile environment. This full-time position operates on-site with a flexible work model.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
  • Build and optimize data models, transformations, and workflows in Snowflake
  • Develop data ingestion frameworks from structured and unstructured sources
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks
  • Implement Snowflake features such as Virtual Warehouses, Streams, Tasks, and Snowpipe
  • Work with Azure services including ADF, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Functions
  • Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Participate in proof-of-concepts involving Generative AI and data analytics

What you’ll bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Platform Engineering
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL development
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field

Nice to have

  • Basic understanding of Azure Cloud services
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD, and Git source control
  • Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and Generative AI concepts
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
