About the role
KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP is hiring a Senior Associate 1 - Canada in Bangalore, Karnataka, India to support onshore audit engagement teams. The role involves performing audit procedures under KPMG Audit methodology, applying Ind AS/IFRS/US GAAP knowledge, and delivering audit services across industries. Day-to-day work includes risk assessment, controls and substantive procedures, evaluating audit results, verifying financial statement compliance, identifying technical issues, and coaching CRC professionals and junior peers. The position is full-time and based in Bangalore.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with onshore audit engagement teams performing various audit procedures in accordance with KPMG Audit methodology
- Provide audit service delivery and demonstrate understanding of industry specific or other permissible procedures
- Build positive relationships by demonstrating understanding of audit procedures and KPMG Audit Methodology to the engagement team
- Seize business opportunities (processes/clients) within permissibility guidelines
- Identify technical issues, apply professional scepticism, and analyse and research solutions
- Improve audit service delivery based on engagement team feedback
- Guide and coach CRC professionals and provide continuous feedback for their professional development
- Coach, train, and provide guidance to less experienced peers and juniors on assigned work and KPMG Audit Methodology
What you’ll bring
- Chartered Accountant / ACCA / CPA qualification
- Relevant post qualification experience of 2.5 to 4 years
- Strong Articleship experience from a mid-size or Big 4 firm (for CA candidates)
- Working knowledge under Indian / Canadian / US auditing standards
- Knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS / US GAAP
- Risk assessment, controls, substantive procedures, evaluation of audit results, and verifying financial statements for compliance with accounting framework
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Working knowledge of audit documentation tool
Nice to have
- Experience in country practice or offshore audit delivery centers
- Exposure to supporting tools such as IDEA or similar sampling tools
