About the role

Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR), Bangalore is hiring Post-Silicon Validation Engineers to validate next-generation mobile Exynos SoCs for functional correctness and production quality. Day-to-day work includes formulating and executing silicon validation test plans, developing functional tests for new IP features, performing electrical characterization, debugging hardware issues, and collaborating with software and hardware design teams. The role also involves supporting customers by debugging returned merchandise and documenting corrective actions. Location: Bangalore, India.

What you’ll do

  • Formulate, review and execute the silicon validation test plans
  • Develop functional tests targeting new IP features
  • Perform electrical characterization
  • Work with industry standard tools and silicon/board test equipment
  • Debug HW issues that arise during the post-silicon development phase
  • Work closely with software and hardware design teams ensuring that the commercialisation goals are met
  • Support customers by debugging and root-causing issues with returned merchandise and documenting necessary corrective actions
  • Document and communicate results regularly with project management personnel

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Fundamentals of digital and analog electronics
  • 3-15 years experience in post-silicon validation or embedded/bare-metal programming and system debugging
  • Excellent knowledge of modern SOC architecture and memory hierarchy
  • Experience with ARM based embedded/firmware programming
  • Good embedded C programming skills
  • Experience with debugging programs during run-time using Lauterbach Trace32 or similar JTAG based debuggers

Nice to have

  • Experience with basic test equipment: Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
  • Validation or verification experience in CPU, GPU, NPU, Power, Clock, Memory, Modem, High Speed and Low Speed Peripherals, Timers and Interrupts, Security
  • CMM programming for Lauterbach Trace32
