About the role
Cognizant's Technology & Engineering team seeks an SME-Configuration HC to serve as a subject matter expert in health care benefit configuration, primarily focusing on Facets benefit configuration for a multinational organization. Day-to-day, the role designs, configures, validates, and optimizes benefit solutions, performs scenario-based testing and root cause analysis, coordinates configuration migrations, and supports night shift operational monitoring and incident response. The position is based in BANGALORE, Karnataka, India and operates in a work-from-office night shift model.
What you’ll do
- Configure complex health care benefits in Facets to ensure accurate enrollment processing and claims adjudication aligned with client contractual requirements and regulatory guidelines
- Analyze benefit requirements and source documentation to translate business rules into precise configuration specifications that reduce defects and rework
- Validate existing and newly configured benefits through scenario-based testing and impact analysis to confirm calculated results align with expected outcomes
- Collaborate with business analysts and operations teams to clarify benefit intent and configuration rules for consistent implementation
- Document configuration design decisions, benefit rules, and exception handling to support maintenance, knowledge transfer, and audit readiness
- Perform root cause analysis for configuration-related issues and implement targeted corrections to prevent recurrence and stabilize production performance
- Optimize benefit configuration structures by simplifying rules, removing redundancies, and aligning with enterprise standards
- Coordinate and execute configuration migration activities across non-production and production environments following change control procedures
What you’ll bring
- Four to seven years of hands-on experience in Facets benefit configuration and health care benefits configuration
- Strong knowledge of health plan products, cost sharing structures, and benefit accumulators
- Working knowledge of claims processing, enrollment processing, and eligibility concepts
- Ability to communicate in English at a novice professional level in spoken and written form
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to interpret business rules and validate edge cases
- Familiarity with testing practices such as test case creation, defect documentation, and result reconciliation
- Ability to adapt to a work-from-office night shift environment with consistent productivity and responsiveness
- Preferred certification in health care administration or Facets configuration training completion
