Bilingual Developer / Tester

About the role

TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES LTD. is hiring a Bilingual Developer / Tester in Pune to support testing activities for applications and products serving Japanese customers and business users. Day-to-day work includes analyzing business and functional requirements in Japanese and English, preparing and executing test cases and scenarios, performing functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UAT testing, and managing defects. The role also involves reviewing Japanese documentation and validating application content, workflows, and translations while collaborating with Japanese stakeholders. Location: Pune.

What you’ll do

• Analyze business and functional requirements in Japanese and English
• Prepare, review, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test data
• Perform Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Identify, document, track, and validate defects using defect management tools
• Review Japanese documentation and validate application content, workflows, and translations
• Participate in requirement walkthroughs, testing discussions, and status reporting

What you’ll bring

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Expertise in creating test cases, test execution, and defect tracking
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• JLPT N3 or N2 certified
• Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in Japanese with native speakers
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in Japanese and English
• Experience interacting with Japanese clients or handling Japanese business documentation
• Hands-on experience in Manual Testing, Test Case Design, and Defect Management
