About the role
EXL is seeking a DBT Developer in Gurugram, Haryana, India to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions. The role focuses on building data pipelines, models, and transformations using DBT, Snowflake, Python, and SAS, while collaborating with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams to deliver reliable datasets for reporting, analytics, and decision-making. This is a full-time hybrid position requiring 4+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using DBT, Python, and Snowflake
- Build and optimize data models, transformations, and data marts within Snowflake
- Develop, test, and deploy DBT models, macros, snapshots, and documentation
- Migrate and modernize legacy SAS-based data processes into cloud-native solutions where applicable
- Create and maintain ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, cleanse, transform, and validate data from multiple sources
- Write efficient SQL queries and optimize Snowflake performance, storage, and compute utilization
- Develop Python scripts and frameworks for automation, data processing, and orchestration
- Perform data quality checks, reconciliation, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience with DBT
- Proficiency in Snowflake data warehouse architecture, performance tuning, and administration concepts
- Strong programming skills in Python for data processing and automation
- Experience developing and maintaining solutions using SAS (Base SAS, SAS SQL, SAS Macros)
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with complex data transformations
- Experience with ETL/ELT design and implementation
