Senior Network Architect

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Senior Network Architect in Bangalore, India, to design, implement, and operate secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise network infrastructure. The hands-on role covers architecture, engineering, lifecycle management, automation, and operational excellence across campus, data center, manufacturing, R&D, and cloud-connected environments, partnering with security, cloud, OT, and application teams. The position requires 8–12+ years of enterprise network engineering experience and involves 10% travel.

What you’ll do

• Design, implement, and support enterprise WAN, LAN, WLAN, SD‑WAN, firewall, and Private 5G network solutions
• Lead detailed network designs for campus, data center, manufacturing, OT, and R&D environments
• Develop and maintain high- and low-level design documentation, traffic flows, and implementation guides
• Design and deploy campus and building LANs, including switching, VLANs, routing, and redundancy models
• Engineer enterprise Wi‑Fi solutions focusing on RF design, capacity planning, and performance optimization
• Engineer and operate global WAN and SD‑WAN deployments, including internet, MPLS, DIA, and cloud connectivity
• Design, implement, and support Private 5G, OT, and sensor network connectivity for manufacturing, industrial, and R&D environments
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, ZTNA, and secure connectivity in partnership with security teams

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s/Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field
• 8–12+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with WAN, SD‑WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, and VPN/ZTNA
• Experience with sensors and Private 5G
• Experience with manufacturing, OT, or large campus networks
• Experience supporting hybrid environments with public cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure)
• Strong understanding of high availability, redundancy, and performance optimization
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with clear written and verbal communication

Nice to have

• Network Wired/Wireless certifications (CCIE Routing & Switching, Aruba, Palo Alto, etc.)
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial network environments
• Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, or enterprise network standards
• Private 5G architecture, integration, and operational support
