About the role
Couchbase is the operational data platform for AI, empowering enterprises to bring data to life across mission-critical, analytical, mobile, and AI workloads. As a People Operations Specialist in Bangalore, India (Hybrid), you will manage day-to-day transactional, compliance, and lifecycle HR operations while actively participating in projects that transform how that work gets done. Your day-to-day balances hands-on People Ops support with AI-forward initiatives, leveraging company-approved AI tools to automate data processing, streamline administrative workflows, and eliminate routine manual tasks, while applying human judgment, empathy, and oversight to complex, high-touch situations.
What you’ll do
- Leverage AI utilities and internal agents to fast-track data entries, record updates, and status changes across the ATS (Greenhouse) and HRIS (UKG), ensuring impeccable data integrity.
- Utilize AI prompting skills to draft offer letters, generate process documentation, spin up new job requisitions, and coordinate complex travel logistics.
- Prompt AI tools to develop, refresh, and maintain onboarding/offboarding materials, standard operating procedures, and company intranet pages to optimize People Ops workflows.
- Use advanced search and AI tools to rapidly synthesize employment law updates and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the final human gatekeeper to audit and validate AI-generated outputs, compliance forms (Background checks, EEO, I-9, E-Verify), and critical legal or policy document drafts.
- Own end-to-end onboarding and offboarding execution, facilitate live orientation sessions, conduct new-hire document collection, and partner with Payroll & Benefits to manage enrollment, changes, and
- Partner closely with People Partners and Total Rewards on delicate employee relations cases, sensitive leaves of absence, annual merit review cycles, and global mobility logistics requiring human empa
- Act as the go-to resource and Tier 2 escalation point for complex employee inquiries, manage ticket routing, and provide coverage across global regions as needed.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience within People Operations, HR Generalist, or Global Mobility environments.
- Direct experience navigating ATS, HRIS (e.g., UKG), and ticketing platforms (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow).
- High proficiency (or an eager, proven willingness to rapidly master) generative AI workflows, including advanced prompting techniques and platform utilization (e.g., custom Gems, Projects, specialized
- Sharp critical eye for content validation, specifically knowing how to spot AI hallucinations, verify legal accuracy, and enforce data privacy boundaries.
- Strong documentation mindset with a passion for creating structure out of chaos and optimizing human-to-AI handoffs.
