About the role
The Field Quality Manager leads QA/QC for substation and transmission line projects, ensuring compliance with Field Quality Plans, technical specs, and codes. They coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and client inspectors, conduct material inspections, oversee installation quality, manage NCRs and root cause analysis, and prepare final quality dossiers for handover. The role requires strong technical knowledge, certification, and 10+ years of QA/QC experience in transmission projects.
What you’ll do
- Implement Field Quality Plan and ITPs for substation and line works
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, client inspectors
- Conduct material inspections and verify quality against specifications
- Oversee substation installation quality and witness electrical tests
- Manage tower erection quality checks and conductor stringing
- Perform testing and commissioning QA, ensuring documentation for energization
- Handle NCRs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Prepare final quality dossier and handover documentation
- Report quality status to project manager and corporate QA
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years QA/QC experience in transmission projects
- B.E./B.Tech Electrical or Mechanical/Civil Engineering
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or QA/QC certification preferred
Nice to have
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
- Electrical Safety or HV Switching certification
- Training in IEC/IS standards for transmission projects
