Vice President, Corporate Controllers Reporting & Accounting

About the role

Morgan Stanley's Finance Shared Services – LEC External Reporting team seeks a Vice President in the Finance Division to lead Controllers Reporting & Accounting deliverables. Day-to-day work includes in-depth variance analysis, regulatory reporting to US/EMEA agencies, control execution and evidence preparation, process improvement, and supporting automation initiatives with AI and digital tooling. The role also involves mentoring team members, participating in regulatory exams and audits, and presenting financial results to senior management. Based in Mumbai, India, this is a full-time position.

What you’ll do

• Conduct in-depth analysis of variances, incorporating accounting issues and economic events, and present financial results to Senior Management and US/EMEA Regulatory Agencies
• Execute report pre-submission checks, implement control procedures, and review regulatory reporting requirements
• Maintain a consolidated list of adjustment details by report and participate in data quality improvement projects
• Execute and review key reporting controls including cross filing reconciliations and variance analysis
• Prepare due diligence review decks and review with key stakeholders
• Review and update relevant policies and procedures
• Participate in regulatory exams, internal audits and address inquiries as required
• Execute ad-hoc projects to support reporting automation initiatives and regulatory reporting changes

What you’ll bring

• Chartered Accountant or equivalent specialization in Finance stream
• Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills
• Experience in managing, developing and leading teams
• Strong communication skills with ability to present complex issues to various audiences
• Experience with establishing and meeting critical deadlines and driving execution
• Risk awareness and good guardianship skills
• Collaborative team player with strong work ethic in cross-functional environments
• Strong stakeholder management

Nice to have

• Preferred 10+ years of finance experience in the financial services industry (regulatory reporting, financial and product control, liquidity, treasury)
• Regulatory and compliance knowledge with financial background and risk management is a plus
