About the role

Coupa Software Data team builds a cloud‑based spend management platform powered by AI and massive data pipelines. As a Lead Software Engineer, Data you will architect and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud data infrastructure on AWS/Azure/GCP, and mentor a team of engineers while ensuring data security and governance. Pune, India and Hyderabad, India – hybrid model with on‑site collaboration.

What you’ll do

• Lead design and development of data architectures and pipelines
• Implement best‑in‑class ETL/ELT solutions for real‑time and batch processing
• Ensure data security, governance, and compliance
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science stakeholders
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of data systems
• Guide and mentor data engineering team members
• Develop monitoring and troubleshooting frameworks
• Drive best practices for data modeling and analytics

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years data engineering experience
• 3+ years technical lead role
• Proficiency in Python and Java
• Advanced SQL and relational/NoSQL databases
• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Big data tools such as Spark and Kafka
• Designing scalable data warehouse solutions
• Mentoring and team leadership
