Senior Public Health Specialist, Consultant
About the role
Technical Support Unit (TSU) at PATH drives the Metropolitan Disease Surveillance Strengthening program for 20 Indian cities, designing and scaling surveillance systems. The Senior Public Health Specialist guides strategy, implements surveillance tools, conducts research, and produces policy briefs while coordinating with national health authorities. New Delhi, on-site, with up to 30% travel required.
What you’ll do
- Provide expert guidance on design and scaling of metropolitan disease surveillance programs
- Develop and operationalize surveillance frameworks and tools
- Identify barriers and propose strategic solutions
- Conduct implementation research and prepare policy briefs
- Develop options papers for private sector engagement
- Coordinate with government, development partners, and technical agencies
- Offer geospatial epidemiology expertise for outbreak prediction
- Build capacity through training and mentoring health professionals
What you’ll bring
- MBBS with post‑graduate specialization in Community Medicine or Preventive & Social Medicine
- Minimum 15 years public health experience, including 10 years in disease surveillance
Nice to have
- Fluency in English and Hindi
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and web‑based research tools
