About the role
Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Application Engineer in Naroda, Ahmedabad to support Sales Teams technically and commercially for air compressors, air treatment, and solutions. The role involves designing and selecting compressor and auxiliary offerings, preparing technical and competitive commercial offers, interfacing between Sales, factories, and engineering during negotiations, and compiling Price Make Up schedules. The engineer manages third-party suppliers during quotation, transfers orders to the project team, and handles complex ETO enquiries using tendering tools and the Gate Process.
What you’ll do
- Design and select suitable offerings involving compressors and auxiliaries (Dryers, cooling towers, filters) with the sales team
- Prepare technical and competitive commercial offers to customers
- Interface between Sales, factories, and engineering during the negotiation stage
- Compile suitable and accurate Price Make Up schedules
- Manage third party suppliers to achieve required costs/quality/schedule during the quotation phase
- Transfer the order to the project team for project execution
- Handle specifications driven high complexity consultant-based projects
- Follow and execute the Gate Process for Engineered To Order enquiries and orders
What you’ll bring
- BE in Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Electrical
- 7-10 years of experience
- Basic knowledge of Centrifugal air compressors, Rotary and Oil Free units
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Commercial awareness/Sales acumen
