Staff Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Site Reliability Engineering team at Sumo Logic ensures the planet‑scale observability and security platform runs reliably and efficiently. The role designs and automates reliability roadmaps, writes production code, and partners with engineering and infrastructure teams to improve microservice operations, security posture, and developer velocity. Bangalore, Hybrid (3 days onsite), relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Maintain and execute reliability roadmap for product area
• Collaborate with development, Global SRE, and infrastructure teams
• Define and manage SLOs for multiple services
• Participate in on‑call rotations and improve on‑call experience
• Automate operational tasks to reduce toil and increase efficiency
• Scale systems sustainably via automation and code improvements
• Facilitate blame‑free root cause analysis and incident response
• Hire and mentor new SRE team members

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years professional experience in applied software security
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting across full stack
• Deep AWS networking, compute, storage expertise
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins
• Experience authoring production code in Java, Scala, or Go
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Linux systems expertise and command‑line proficiency
• Agile frameworks experience (Scrum, Kanban)
