Software Engineer, Staff/Senior Staff – Virtual Platforms

About the role

Qualcomm Virtual Platforms team builds high‑level system virtual models of complex SoC hardware to accelerate design verification. The Staff Software Engineer develops SystemC TLM and QEMU virtual platforms, integrates processors, interconnects, and custom IP, and collaborates with hardware and software engineers to deliver accurate simulations. Bangalore, on-site, hybrid schedule with occasional remote days as needed.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop SystemC TLM models for SoC architectures
• Integrate processors, interconnects, peripherals, and custom IP into virtual platforms
• Collaborate with hardware designers and software engineers to capture system requirements
• Perform code reviews, regression testing, and issue triage
• Lead design, coding, and testing efforts to meet specifications and schedules

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 4+ years software engineering experience (or Master’s with 3+ years, PhD with 2+ years)
• 2+ years C/C++/Java/Python programming

Nice to have

• 10+ years software/firmware engineering experience
• 5+ years virtual platform or simulator development
• Open source development experience
• Unit testing and CI expertise
• ARM architecture knowledge
• Modern C++ proficiency
