Database Lead

About the role

Iris Software is seeking a Database - Lead to own and shape enterprise database engineering initiatives within its IT services business across financial services, healthcare, transportation & logistics, and professional services. Day-to-day work includes leading scalable database architecture design, establishing engineering standards and governance frameworks, driving performance tuning and scalability initiatives, and guiding teams on data persistence, schema design, and deployment automation. The role is based in Noida, UP, India.

What you’ll do

• Lead enterprise database engineering initiatives supporting scalable, reliable, and high-performance database solutions aligned with organizational objectives
• Establish database engineering standards, governance frameworks, and development best practices across teams
• Establish engineering standards for logical and physical data modeling, database schema design, normalization, denormalization, indexing strategies, and database optimization best practices
• Lead the design of scalable database architectures supporting enterprise applications and data platforms
• Define enterprise standards for PL/SQL development, database programming, and data access optimization
• Establish relational database architecture standards across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server environments
• Define architecture and governance standards for non-relational database platforms including MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB, HBase, and CouchDB
• Drive enterprise performance optimization and scalability initiatives across database platforms and application ecosystems

What you’ll bring

• Performance Tuning & Scalability expertise
• PL/SQL including PL/SQL Packages proficiency
• PostgreSQL experience
• Ansible knowledge
• Database design and data modelling skills
• Experience with relational database architecture across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server
• Knowledge of non-relational database platforms such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB, HBase, and CouchDB
• Ability to lead enterprise database engineering initiatives and establish governance frameworks
