About the role

ZF India Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Senior Technical Lead - Functional Safety in Hyderabad, India, to lead software safety activities within automotive functional safety programs. Day-to-day work includes deriving software safety requirements from system requirements or architecture, ensuring traceability, performing software safety analyses (DFMEA/FTA), defining software safety concepts and plans, and supporting verification reviews across the software V-cycle. The role also involves creating and modifying programming guidelines and ISO 26262 methods, and providing ASIL decomposition guidance and gate approvals.

What you’ll do

  • Recording of software safety requirements from new or complex problems to implementation level of requirements with verification and validation
  • Ensuring traceability of software safety requirements and performing impact analysis at the software level
  • Performing software safety analysis using DFMEA or FTA approaches (quantitative and qualitative analysis)
  • Determination of software safety concepts from a technical point of view
  • Creation and modification of programming guidelines and methods from ISO 26262
  • Support verification review at software development V-cycle and determination of software safety plan and safety case
  • Initiate confirmation review at software safety analysis and verification test plan
  • Knowledge on ASIL decomposition techniques and providing road and gate approvals from time to time

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or software engineering
  • 8-10 years of experience with a software coding background and strong understanding of functional safety standards
  • Proven experience in software code development in the automotive domain, especially in a functional safety context
  • Ability to determine software safety requirements from system requirements, system architecture, or hardware-software interface specifications
  • Ability to record software safety requirements from new or complex problems down to implementation level with verification and validation
  • Ability to ensure traceability of software safety requirements and perform impact analysis at the software level
  • Ability to perform software safety analysis using DFMEA or FTA approaches (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Ability to determine software safety concepts from a technical point of view

Nice to have

  • Proven experience in base software development according to AUTOSAR
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262:2018
  • Knowledge of agile development processes such as DevOps
  • Knowledge of software safety analysis processes such as Software FMEA and HAZOP
  • Knowledge of automotive products such as transmissions or electric drives
  • High assertiveness with moderation and communication skills, and safe and reliable contact with customers and suppliers
  • Good to have ISO 26262 Level-1 Certification
