About the role
Optiv Security’s 24x7x365 Security Operations Center, Managed Security Services (MSS) team in Bangalore, Karnataka, seeks an MDR Engineer to onboard and maintain SIEM environments for MSS clients. Day-to-day work includes serving as a primary responder for client SIEM/MDR configuration issues, implementing and configuring SIEM/MDR software and appliances in enterprise and government environments, developing security content and reporting, advising best practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and providing remote consulting and knowledge transfer. The role requires on-site presence at the Bangalore office 3 days per week with shift flexibility to rotate between days, mids, and nights.
What you’ll do
- Serve as a primary responder for Managed Security customer systems, taking ownership of client configuration issues and tracking through resolution
- Act as a point of escalation for junior level Engineers and provide guidance and mentoring
- Advise best practice on SIEM/MDR products to both technical and relatively non-technical personnel
- Provide remote consulting services via interactive client sessions to assist with implementation of multiple product vendors and technologies
- Implement and configure SIEM/MDR software and appliance-based products in large enterprise and Government environments
- Develop and maintain security content and reporting
- Perform knowledge transfers to clients regarding security and system configuration awareness
- Create procedures, implement processes and solutions across internal and client environments
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years professional experience working in a technical team environment
- 2+ years professional experience maintaining SIEM or infrastructure systems in the Information Security field
- College degree or equivalent training with experience working in a Security Operations Center, Managed Security, or client network environment
- Experience with LogRhythm SIEM is required
- Understanding of network architecture and implementation
- Ability to participate in on-call support
- Demonstrated experience and success in a Managed Service client environment
- Ability to work greater than 40 hours per week as needed
