About the role
Barry-Wehmiller seeks a Senior Designer Electrical to lead end-to-end electrical design for industrial machinery in Chennai. The role involves creating schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using ePlan P8 and AutoCAD Electrical, performing load calculations, voltage drop, and fault analysis, and ensuring compliance with UL, IEC, NEMA, BS, and other standards. The designer will collaborate with global teams, conduct design reviews, HAZOPs, and RFIs, and maintain CAD standards. Travel may be required for project needs. What you’ll do
- Develop electrical schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams
- Create panel layouts, termination diagrams, cable schedules
- Produce BOMs, load lists, datasheets
- Perform design calculations and safety reviews
- Collaborate with global engineering teams
- Maintain CAD standards and conduct peer reviews
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5-8 years electrical design experience in industrial machinery
Nice to have
- Experience with printing, packaging, converting machine OEMs
- Knowledge of UL508A, IEC, NEMA, BS, European, IS, NEC, IEEE standards
