Sr. Software Engineer

About the role

Nomura Services India's Wholesale Core Services Software Engineering division seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to build internal developer platforms and scalable microservices. The role focuses on elevating engineering experiences through Java, Python, and AI-powered features using LLMs and agentic workflows. This position is based in Mumbai, IN, with a remote work model.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
• Implement AI-powered features using LLMs and agentic AI workflows.
• Build autonomous AI agents with multi-step reasoning and tool usage capabilities.
• Optimize RAG pipelines integrated with agentic systems and vector databases.
• Practice TDD with comprehensive unit, integration, and contract testing.
• Apply DevOps principles including infrastructure as code and automated deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intelligent software solutions.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.

What you’ll bring

• Expertise in Python, Java, and Spring Boot for microservices development.
• Strong experience with Micro-service Architecture and Event-driven architecture.
• Proficiency in Distributed systems design and implementation.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and integration frameworks.
• DevOps/Platform Engineering skills including CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Kubernetes proficiency for deployment and scaling.
• Advanced Python skills with LLM frameworks like LangChain or Hugging Face.
